Some questions about the tracking function 12 years 8 months ago #5

I read the manual on this, but still am unclear how to fully use the tracking function with both normal and track low.

I know it said something about having an input pitch that goes into the FM input that makes tracking possible but I have no clue how to use this feature most of the time and it is hit or miss.

Can someone post an in depth explanation of the tracking function?

The Tracking only works properly on the following conditions :
*Harmonics NOT in 'free' position
*Monophonic signal comes in the Input or FM
*FM knob opened a little to allow the signal reach the octaver /tracking.
*Realise that octaver("quint") and tracking are 2 INDEPENDENT working systems
*octaver("quint") is by far the fastest reacting, eg playing fast solo's

Basic Tracking (ground note) requires :
*Freq1 at zero
*No modulations (LFO, ADSR, FM) applied
When used to this, then you can try to 'jump to overtones' increasing Freq1 or apply slow modulations.
Off coarse a wave with a lot of overtones will work best : e.g. Sawtooth from a monosynth

Tracking is best audible when :
*Full effect
*Parallel mode (experiment later with serial mode)
*Reso 1 and2 are on maximum
*'Out 1' and 'Main out' are routed in stereo image
